ArcSolar field guide / Installation evidence

Battery STC photos: keep the evidence usable

A readable photo in a report is not enough if the original file and required metadata are missing. CER’s battery photo guide requires additional critical-label photos from 1 March 2026, alongside existing installer verification evidence. Check the evidence pack before the installer leaves the process with unresolved items.

Check the evidence before handover

  • Use CER’s complete guide to check critical-label coverage around the meter box, each switchboard and the battery front/sides.
  • Confirm labels are readable and their location is visible in the photos.
  • Retain geotagged, timestamped originals with metadata that matches the installer verification evidence.
  • Check the existing installer-presence and equipment serial-number evidence too; critical-label photos do not replace it.

Which file formats should the team retain?

CER accepts JPEG, PNG and HEIC original photos. Its guide rejects PDF photos and images embedded in documents because the required metadata is unavailable. Check the file itself before marking the handover item complete.

Example: the pack contains only a PDF

Illustrative example: an installer sends a six-page PDF with clear label pictures. Operations can read them, but the originals are missing. Keep that item unresolved, assign the request to the installer and obtain the original files through the approved evidence process. Check their metadata and coverage before passing the pack to the agent.

Photos do not certify the installation

This is an evidence-handling checklist, not the complete safety or labelling standard. Installers and agents remain responsible for compliance and the current submission process. A job attachment or provider status in ArcSolar does not prove CER acceptance, metadata preservation or settled STCs.

Keep the outstanding request with the job

ArcSolar’s field workflow connects work orders, installers and outstanding evidence. Use the supported file controls, record the missing item and give the next action an owner. Keep the agent’s original-file process authoritative.
