ArcSolar field guide / Product and compliance

Victorian solar inverter checks before you quote

For a Victorian Solar Homes quote, identify the exact inverter model and check the current Solar Victoria product list before committing to a rebate-eligible offer. The 2026–27 Notice to Market also requires in-scope connectable equipment needed for the system to meet the smart-device security rules. A product label alone does not close that check.

Which rules apply?

Solar Victoria's 2026–27 Notice took effect on 1 July 2026 for its Solar Homes and Solar for Apartments programs. It requires eligible solar PV inverters to appear on the Solar Victoria and Clean Energy Council lists. It also requires the inverter and any in-scope connectable device needed for the system to comply with the Cyber Security (Security Standards for Smart Devices) Rules 2025.

The national rules started on 4 March 2026. Home Affairs says the product's manufacture date and scope matter; products made before that date are treated differently. Confirm the specific device with the manufacturer or supplier rather than assuming every accessory is covered.

What should procurement request?

  • Confirm the exact brand and model on the current Solar Victoria inverter list and the applicable CEC list; keep the date checked.
  • For each in-scope device, obtain the supplier's statement of compliance and the manufacturer's published security-reporting route and support end date.
  • Give the installer the applicable connection conditions. Commissioning settings and emergency backstop still need qualified on-site verification.

Example: a proposed inverter changes before install

Illustrative job: a quoted inverter is replaced with a different model. Before approving the substitution, recheck the replacement's current program listing, request its relevant device-security evidence and update the quoted equipment. Hand the final model and network conditions to the installer for commissioning.

What ArcSolar does not certify

ArcSolar documents a product catalogue with model, specifications, warranty and technical documents, plus work orders and field evidence. These records help the team assign and revisit checks; they are not a live approved-product feed, a cybersecurity certification or proof that an inverter was correctly commissioned. Recheck official lists when the offer or equipment changes.
