ArcSolar field guide / Solar software basics

What is a solar CRM? Follow the customer, quote and job

A solar CRM is customer relationship management software for a solar business. It connects enquiries, customer details, conversations, opportunities and follow-up tasks. Depending on the product and plan, quoting, design, payments and installation work may also connect to that record.

What should a solar CRM keep together?

  • Customer, installation address, enquiry source and responsible rep.
  • Conversation history, next task and follow-up date.
  • Issued quote version, customer acceptance and payment state.
  • Links to the project, job and outstanding handover requirements.

In ArcSolar, sales stages show sales progress. Operational queues and payment states remain separate. Check the underlying record before advancing the work.

A platform can cover several roles. ArcSolar connects customer records with quoting and delivery; Roof Vision supports the design workflow on eligible plans. Review plan, access and provider setup before assuming everything is included.

Example: accepted offer, pending deposit

Illustrative workflow: a Melbourne household accepts a battery offer. The deposit is still processing and a switchboard photo is missing. Sales records acceptance; finance checks payment confirmation; operations owns the missing photo. An accepted offer alone does not establish that the deposit is paid or the site is ready.

What does the software still need you to verify?

A CRM does not certify installer suitability, site safety, forecast savings or rebate approval. Review source evidence and make the appropriate commercial and technical decisions. Demo records and illustrated screens do not prove a live payment or connected provider.

Compare the workflow before choosing the platform

Use the same fictional records in each demonstration. Record what was shown, the required plan and setup, manual steps and the next owner. ArcSolar publishes this guide from its own product perspective; it is not an independent software review.
