A practical example

  • Illustrative handover: a rep leaves the business with an open quote and two follow-up tasks. Review customer ownership, opportunity ownership and each task before access changes.
  • Reopen the record after saving to confirm the intended owner and visibility. Give the receiving rep the last customer commitment and next action, not just a name in a dropdown.

Keep these boundaries clear

This guide does not claim automatic round-robin routing or a particular assignment algorithm. Use the controls and permissions actually available in the workspace and verify each saved change.

Put the checklist to work

Use one representative record to test the workflow before rolling it out across the team. Confirm what is supported in your plan and who owns unresolved work.
