Victorian Solar Homes quote checks: seller identity and approval

For a Victorian Solar Homes PV offer, check the actual seller on the quote against Solar Victoria’s authorised retailer list. An approved product, a configured ArcSolar selling brand and a customer’s program approval are different decisions. Confirm each before relying on a rebate-ready handover.

Which seller is providing the offer?

  • Read the legal name, trading name and ABN on the proposed quote or contract. Use those details when checking the current authorised retailer list and the separate ineligible list.
  • Record the official source and check date. If identity or status is unclear, resolve it with Solar Victoria rather than inferring eligibility from a similar trading name.
  • In ArcSolar, review the selected selling brand and its document identity. The selling brand is the customer’s seller; the product brand is the equipment manufacturer.

What needs approval before installation?

Solar Victoria’s PV process requires an authorised retailer and eligible products, plus confirmation of the household’s eligibility. Installing before eligibility approval means the customer will not receive the rebate.

Its guidance recommends customers wait for eligibility confirmation before accepting a quote or paying a deposit; an earlier deposit should be fully refundable. The installer must scan the issued PV QR code onsite before work starts. Follow the current official process, including connection pre-approval and applicable timelines.

Example: the checklist uses the wrong entity

Illustrative job: the quote names Seller A, while an internal checklist records Seller B’s ABN. Ask the quote owner to resolve the mismatch and recheck the correct entity. A changed logo does not establish who the authorised seller is.

What does ArcSolar readiness establish?

ArcSolar’s documented additional brands can prepare drafts but cannot yet issue quotes. A current price or readiness label does not override that limit or certify Solar Homes authorisation.

This checklist does not establish automatic Solar Victoria portal submission, eligibility decisions or QR scanning in ArcSolar. Keep official program evidence authoritative; a CRM stage or work-order attachment alone does not approve the rebate.
